Egyptian DK is the second in our new Linen and Baby Alpaca yarns. 50% Baby Alpaca blends perfectly with 25% Silk and 25% Linen. The use of Linen, a cellulose fiber, with the two other protein fibers will create a muted effect in the final dyeing as it resists acid dyes. However, because both Baby Alpaca and Silk will drink up color, you may want to experiment a bit to determine how much dye you need for the effects you want to create. A DK weight yarn with 2 plies, the Linen and Baby Alpaca combine to produce a beautiful halo effect which adds to the character of this beautiful yarn.
