Baby Yak Cloud - Sample Skein
Baby Yak Cloud
41% Baby Alpaca, 13% 18.5 Micron Merino, 10% Yak, 35% Silk
437 yds/50g skein, Sample skein
WPI 20
The gauge on 3mm (between US2 and US3) is 26sts and 46 rows.
This yarn is exquisite. The soft warm natural yak colour gives a warm undertone to the yarn. This yarn can be dyed or knit as it is. The speckles on this are super soft and look really natural. The yarn is a joy to knit and creates a soft Yak halo. The resulting fabric is super light and warm. This yarn would work well on a larger needle size than US3 to create a more open Fabric. I've stranded it with the Tibetan 4ply to give make a gorgeous swatch. This yarn is strong and would work as a weft, it may work as a warp, but I don’t know how well it would work with a lot of movement from the heddles, if you try it let me know!
I would use this yarn for lace shawls/cowls, and light sweaters, and works a treat to add a warm halo stranded with other yarns.
