News on BFL Stock Standing
(original post written on October 16, 2014)
I want to give you a little background on how the BFL yarns are handled.  Unlike the Merino yarns, which are ordered quarterly, our 100% British Bluefaced Leicester fiber is spun once or twice a year.  Remember, the fiber for our BFL is a rare British fiber, and we must buy it in bulk as it becomes available, and stockpile it over time until we have enough to ship to the mill and get on their spin schedule.  The great news is that, we have stockpiled more BFL fiber than ever before, which translates to better stock for our dyers.
Any wholesale customer may request a private order against incoming stock by eMail. (Yarnie@wool2dye4.com)

This means that all customers who have discovered our lovely British Bluefaced Leicester yarns need to adopt a new attitude towards its availability.  Remember that British BFL is a rare fiber, so this means that availability is not unlimited.  There is only so much of a rare fiber available, and if you want to participate in dyeing it and reselling it, we need you to work closely with us so that you can have the yarn to fulfill your upcoming orders.  Start now to understand the demand you have generated with your own customer base.
Call for Estimates:
We have had disappointed customers ask why their response to the Call for Estimates didn’t cover them.  The answer is that an estimate is not an order.  It is an estimate, a report to us on your anticipated needs.  It is not a committment.
Private Orders:
To lock in your need for any of these British BFL yarns from the February spin, then you must request a Private order.  We will create the invoices about a week before the delivery of the yarns.  The shipment is due to ship to our warehouse on February 22, 2015,and estimated arrival is March 10, 2015.  We will update this info if there are any further changes.

Mona, I am just coming on to the blog now to correct that message. It was an error on my part.
We have plenty of BFL Aran and BFL Aran-Sw to last a couple of years, and I think that we just brought some more in.
Sorry for the scare! Will correct that info right this moment. Thank you for your letter, which came just at the right time. Someone else also pointed this out to me five minutes ago.

Hi! I’m so disappointed!! I’m knitting an afghan as a wedding gift and am running short of BFL Aran SW yarn. Can you please put me down for a private order of a bag (unless you have a cone, even a partial one, in your personal stash 🙂
